Contractors All Risks Insurance (CAR)
This insurance protects you during building or construction projects. It covers damage to the site and materials, and also protects you if someone else’s property is damaged or someone gets hurt because of the work being done.
It’s perfect for building houses, offices, doing repairs, or installing machines like lifts and boilers.
If you’re building to sell (not for a client), your building is still covered after it’s finished:
- Up to 90 days for commercial buildings
- Up to 180 days for homes
What It Covers:
- Damage to the building under construction
- Damage to materials, tools, and machines on site
- Injury to other people or damage to their property
- Risks like fire, theft, rain, or storms
- Some testing of equipment (basic coverage)
